Cupcakes For Life 2009 was an amazing Success!
Cupcakes for life 2009 was an amazing Success! We had so many people trying to log onto our website at once that our whole system crashed twice. How amazing is that? I have gotten to hear about a hundred stories this week of how sprinkles and icing have changed the world. People even heard the gospel of Christ and accepted his free gift with their treat. Because of cupcakes for life some people were born into the kingdom and will be celebrating both there physical birthdays and their spiritual birthdays forever.
One story that moved me was about a girl who had just found out she was pregnant two days before the event. She was scared to tell anyone. However as they baked cupcakes the night before Cupcake Day she felt safe to share her story. Even though she’s a teenager has no money her little baby will be having his first birthday in a year and seven months! This girl would have had every reason to limit the birthdays of her child but she has decided to let it live. How exciting is that?
For the most part the people I talked with found them selves facing very little hostile confrontation. Apparently the cupcakes really soften and sweeten up this conversation. However there have been a tray full of stories of people who did not react pleasantly to our campaign. Unfortunately not everyone loves cupcakes and babies as much as we do. We received a good handful of hate messages from these folks. I’m not sure if we should post them or not. If you want to see them let us know.
One story came to me from a teacher who put some cupcakes in the teachers lounge with a lovely card for her fellow employees. The majority of the staff loved the yummy-conversation starter however the principal didn’t. And on the following day she was fired for offering her “controversial cupcakes” to her peers. These last two weeks have been very hard for her. We are not releasing her name as of yet but please pray for her when you think of it. Let us know what you think of this.
Here are some of our favorite pictures that were submitted! If you have pictures please send them in, you might just end up seeing them on the site!

Please continue to post on our blogs so the world can hear your stories of how cupcakes are allowing more children to have birthdays.

I was able to make 117 cupcakes for this event. I made enough so that each person in my classes throughout the day could have one. It was a big hit! Spreading the pro-life message through tasty treats was just icing on the cake.
I was fortunate enough that most people agreed with being pro-life and I wasn’t placed in any hostile situations.
As of right now, there are no pregnant teen girls at my high school, which can be considered a blessing from God. Although if any become pregnant before I graduate I’ll be right there speaking to them about the cause and effect of pro-life.
Thanks so much for a great even. I can’t wait until next year

Thanks Joe for all of your support while I am sorting through my situation.
I am the one who was fired for putting out cupcakes and fliers with a note in the teacher’s lounge at the school where I worked as the nurse. I am not a confrontational type person - and never thought that cupcakes and a passive flier with facts about abortion would get me fired. Of course, other things have been thrown in since as to the reason I was fired in an effort to make it sound legitimate.
I am a lover and follower of Jesus - and have been passionately against abortion ever since I knew what it was. You won’t find me arguing with anyone about it - or holding graphic signs for passersby. Yet there is conviction deep in my spirit to protect the unborn. When given the opportunity I stand up for those who aren’t even given a chance to stand up for themselves.
I have been struggling with this situation, as Joe mentioned above, for the past two weeks since it happened. I am not out to seek vengeance against my employer or to cause trouble.
But it’s just not about me - it’s about everyone who should have been born since Rowe vs Wade in 1973 - who were murdered… legally. It’s not about whose opinion is right - but opening people’s eyes to the facts of this tragedy.
I would greatly appreciate your prayers as I seek the Lord for guidance on if and how to take action for what happened. For the silencing of a voice for the unborn.
Thanks

Pro-life cupcake day was a hit at my college! I made two batches of cupcakes and everyone wanted one! It was nice to be able to spread the pro-life message in such a fun and tasty way.
Fired for Cupcakes, thank you for standing up for what is right. I will keep you in my prayers!
